You might be wondering what WEC is and why we are asking you to check it out. WEC stands for World Endurance Championship, and it is a series which pits some of the world’s best drivers in some of the most beautifully sounding and designed car against each other over a series of endurance events ranging from 6 hour races at Spa in Belgium and Intelagos in Brazil to the iconic Le Mans 24 hours race in France.

With a whole host of manufacturers competing in the series from Ferrari, Toyota, BMW, Alpine, Cadillac, Peugeot, Aston Martin, Genesis, Mclaren, Ford, Chevrolet, Porsche and Lexus all battling it out to test their machinery to the limit.

The series is split into two categories. Hypercar, a series where the manufacturers can let their imaginations run wild. Building bespoke racing machines perfected for top speed, ultimate grip and minimum weight. The Formula 1 of endurance racing in essence. Competing on the same track you have the GT3 or Grand Tourers. These are in effect road going homologated cars that have then been stripped back and modified for racing purposes and given bodykits to match.

The sights, the smells, the noise. If you love cars, if you love motorsport, what is there not to love about this category or motor racing.

The series has had two fiercely competitive rounds so far at Imola and Spa. The next race is the iconic Le Mans 24 hour event in June. If you haven’t caught up with this series yet, be sure not to miss it. It truly is something to behold, and with more manufacturers joining the Hypercar series in 2027 in the form of McLaren and Ford, it seems things are only starting to heat up in the World Endurance Championship at the moment.

If this sounds like something you would like, feel free to check out the last round of the championship on this link on YouTube.
